Update
Since my last post in December last year my monitoring of servers and websites has shown that one server affecting one client was down for 20 minutes on one day, between 4.10 and 4.30 am. Otherwise the whole system has worked without faults all year to date!

HiTech Hosting.
All systems have performed 100 per cent this week.
We are still evaluating a supplier in depth for a hitech option for technically minded clients. Thus far we have pleased with the reults and we hope to be able to offer an advanced set of features for websites and e-mail. More in the New Year.
A Happy Christmas to you all.

Update
The switch to new servers by one of my upstream suppliers has settled down after around one day of occasional inability tp connect, and all now seems OK.
I have identified a possible supplier as an alternative and I am evaluating them in depth. If all works well I will be contacting clients on an individual basis to offer an upgraded service at the same cost.

Server 20 Clients Only
I am pleased to report that all accounts on this troublesome little server have been successfully switched to shiny new servers and so we should now be back to 100% e-mail efficiency.
I should like to thank clients for their forbearance. My "wholesalers" have said that theeir primary consideration was to ensure that no data was lost over the problems. Websites all worked 100% and no e-mails have been lost although they had to shut down access to e-mails and to the ability to update sites.
I am however taking a step back to revisit the question of alternative suppliers and strategies to minimise problems in the future.
Again thanks for your forbearance.

Our new website: a progress report
We have made good progress on setting up this website using a "Content Management System" but there is a good deal of work to be done before it can be officially declared open. There is a link on www.comfycomputing.com at the moment, but apart from contact details there is a woeful lack of information. (No change there then)
We are racking our brains for a snazzy slogan. Suggestions welcome. Discarded Candidate is
"It's not as bad as you think" as it looks as though it alludes to the website.
Our latest attempt is "Putting you in charge of your PC" but we need to do a little more brainstorming.
More progress details later. It's getting past the hour when sensible prose can be produced.
